Mathias Church is one of the most important churches in Hungary, where the last two kings of Hungary were crowned: Franz Joseph I in 1867 and Charles IV in 1916. The exhibition was organised because of the completion of the 10-year-long refurbishment. The 700 year long history of the church is presented, from the Middle Ages through the period of the Turkish rule, when it functioned as a mosque, until the 19th century, when extensive renovation work gave the church its present shape.
