We would like to invite everyone to a meeting entitled “Stories from vanished countries” with the participation of Monika Rydiger, PhD, Michał Wiśniewski, PhD and Łukasz Galusek (host), which will be held on the 26th of June at 5 p.m. at EMPIK Krakow.
The meeting has been inspired by the main theme of the next issue of Herito and the current exhibition at the Gallery of the International Cultural Centre. Between the 22nd of June and the 2nd of September, you can see the photographs presented there, which constitute an extraordinary chronicle of everyday life in the German Democratic Republic.
The new issue of the Polish-English Herito quarterly will be published soon. Authors of stories about countries that no longer exist featured in the magazine include: Ivan Čolović, Nicolas Grospierre, Drago Jančar, Miljenko Jergović, Detlef Kurth, Monika Rydiger, Simona Škrabec, Magda Vášáryová, Michał Wiśniewski and Stefan Wolle.
Moreover, in the current issue of Herito:
- Katarzyna Jagodzińska writes about a Berlin bunker which currently holds an unusual collection of contemporary art
- Joanna Sanetra-Szeliga presents the second life of cities including: Essen, Katowice, Lille and Łódź
- Maciej Czerwiński and Łukasz Galusek bring back the artistic work of an outstanding Yugoslavian sculptor Ivan Meštrovic
