April 25, 2012; 5.00 p.m.
EMPIK Krakow, Main Square no. 5, 2nd floor
We would like to invite everyone to a meeting entitled “Culture and politics” which will be held at EMPIK Krakow on April 25, at 5.00 p.m. Łukasz Galusek, HERITO’s managing editor, will be talking to Katarzyna Jagodzińska and Żanna Komar (two of HERITO’s regular contributors) about the journal’s latest issue. The title of the meeting echoes the theme of the number in which various facets of the marriage of culture and politics are investigated by Anda Rottenberg, Yekaterina Andreevna, Ivan Čolović, Janusz Sepioł, and Bożena Gierat-Bieroń. In two articles, the current state of affairs in Hungary and Ukraine is shrewdly addressed by Katarzyna Jagodzińska’s and Żanna Komar’s discussions of the so-called “museum crises”.
Moreover, in the current issue:
• Joanna Sanetra-Szeliga writes about the European Capital of Culture Maribor 2012 and talks to Suzana Žilič Fišer and Mitja Čander, the creators of the city’s programme;
• Joan Roca i Albert introduces the Barcelona City History Museum to the readers of HERITO;
• Drago Jančar addresses Ivo Andrić’s political in-correctness;
• Anna Saciuk-Gąsowska, Zoltán Gyalókay, Jiří Fajt, Wojciech Wilczyk, and Beata Nykiel share their impressions on new Central European exhibitions and books.
The current issue is the sixth in the history of the journal published by the International Cultural Centre since 2010.
